January 2017 Principal's Letter
Dear Rosenauer Parents,
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday. I hope everyone enjoys time with family and friends. We will be on a ½ day schedule for Friday, December 23rd. School will dismiss at 1:55. School will reopen on January 3rd. WE DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL ON JANUARY 2nd. Please plan accordingly.
Report cards for the first trimester will be available for parents to view on Genesis on Tuesday, January 3rd. Students in grades 2 and 4 will be taking the In-View test on January 4th and 5th. Students need not study for these tests. The data collected will be used help track student growth. The scores of the test will not impact grades, but may be used to place students in programs such as Enrichment and Advanced Math.
Or 9th Annual Gift Auction
I personally would like to invite you to Rosenauer’s 9th Annual Gift Auction on February 24th, 2017 at Woodlake Country Club. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year which allows our children to partake in so many amazing events throughout their years here at Rosenauer. In the years to come, your child will be a part of class trips each year and assemblies, as well. One student each month is awarded Student of the Month by his or her teacher and the PTA presents each child with a medal and a $10 Scholastic Certificate for the next book fair. Each child on the 100th day of school will receive ice cream at lunch and Snow Cones on the last day of school. We also hold evening events at school, including Candy Bingo, Trunk or Treat and a spring family night each year. All these events listed are fully funded by the PTA and could not take place without fundraising annually.
Because the Annual Gift Auction is our largest fundraiser, your support is greatly appreciated. We still have a few tables left. Please fill out the attached form and send it in. If you are not a member of the PTA and would like to join, please send $5 in an envelope with your name, child’s name, phone number and email address. Once a member, you will have access to the PTA Facebook page "Sylvia Rosenauer Elementary School PTA" which provides you with all events going on at the school and is updated when needed as fast as we can.
Breakfast is Served
Parents, please remember that we offer breakfast to all students everyday. Any student will have the opportunity to purchase a breakfast between 9:10 when the school opens to students until 9:25 when students report to homeroom.
Our Readers Theater program is new this year. The curriculum will focus on grade level content area concepts for Math, Science, Social Studies and fiction Literacy. This program will run Monday through Wednesday from January 9th through February 1st.
Please mark your calendars and remember that students enrolled in the program should report to school at 8:20. Please do not send your child/children before that time.
Reach for Success/SOAR
Our Reach For Success/SOAR programs will restart on Monday, February 13th and will end on Wednesday, March 29th. Please mark your calendars and remember that students enrolled in the program should report to school at 8:20. Please do not send your child/children before that time.
