Our seven member Board of Education is an elected body comprised of residents of Jackson Township. As Board members, they establish policies and administrative procedures for the Jackson School District's daily operations. Board members fulfill three-year terms and serve the residents and children of Jackson Township without pay. These board members make important decisions that affect the educational offerings to our children, and welcome and encourage the public to take an active role in the educational process as well. Members of the community can attend all Board meetings to ask questions and express opinions. |

This is Mr. Krakower's 13th year on the Board of Education. As a board member, his goals are to provide a quality education for all of our students and to ensure that our schools are safe and clean for the success of our student body. A former educator, he believes the board must consistently strive for and reach these goals if it is to succeed in benefiting the children of Jackson.
Mr. Morvay is serving his sixth year on the board. He has been involved in education for more than 30 years as a reading specialist and coach in Edison Township public schools. A resident of Jackson for 15 years, he has been involved in Holbrook Little League and Jackson Pop Warner. Mr. Morvay believes the public has the right to demand excellence from its schools. He is committed to ensuring the district is held accountable to the taxpayers and students, fostering excellence in education and ensuring fiscal responsibility. This is Mrs. Dey's second year on the board. She is committed to being an advocate for children, working families and taxpayers. A 10-year Jackson resident, she is a member of the Special Education Advisory Council and Parent-to-Parent Support Group and is an activist for autism awareness. She believes the community has a right to demand a quality education and is interested in improving test scores, educational opportunities and teacher retention. Mrs. Fiero is serving her fourth year on the board and her first as board vice president. She has also demonstrated years of leadership in parent groups and district committees, such as the Future Directions Committee. She and her husband own a telecommunications company and have five sons who have completed or who still attend our schools. Mrs. Fiero believes her passion and her experience in business and in lobbying will enable her to provide meaningful guidance to our fast-growing district. This is Mrs. Lackay’s sixth year on the board. She understands the critical role parents provide in their children’s education. She strives to strengthen the relationship between school and home by promoting constructive communication and active volunteerism. Mrs. Lackay is confident that with the collective efforts of parents, educational professionals and greater Jackson community, the district will continue to move forward with increased fiscal accountability and academic achievement in the best interests of every child.
Mr. Sargent was elected to his first term on the board in April 2008. His bio and e-mail address will be posted shortly. Mr. Spielman is serving his sixth year on the board and his second term as vice president. He earned a B.S. in Education, M.S. degrees in both Education and School Administration and was a teacher and coach in the New York City school system for more than 30 years. He would like to see Jackson become a Top 10 school district and is interested in taking advantage of the expertise available in our adult communities. Mr. Spielman intends to work on stabilizing our school budgets and ensuring school construction stays ahead of population growth.
