Welcome to all my new students and families!
The 2020/2021 school year is all set to begin ~ unlike any other school year I have ever seen! I am ready and excited to begin the new year, and work with you to learn as we go through this new experience together:)
Whether you are fully remote and meeting 5 days a week or a hybrid student and meeting me every other day, we are all going to learn together how best to navigate this new world.
Please be patient with the district, our school, yourself and me while we work through all the new things this year will bring. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will do my very best to answer your questions or to find the right person to answer your question.
Here are some tips that I have found useful for remote learning ~ hopefully you will too!
- Designate a quiet area in your house for school work. Set it up with supplies like pencils, highlighters, pens and paper, post it notes and other frequently used items. If it is in your bedroom, please do not be in your bed on the meet.
- "Arrive" to your class spot 5 minutes before you are expected on a meet so that you are settled and prepared. You should have already had your meal or snack and used the restroom so that you don't need to step away during our hour. I would prefer you do not eat while we are on together, but of course a drink is fine.
- Have your chromebook charged or an easily accesible outlet and charger.
- If you have a sibling or pet, please leave them out of our meet, unless we are introducing them to the class or having a class party (yes ~ we can do that online!)
Let's get this party started ~ it's going to be a great year!
