Welcome to Authentic Science Research
Authentic Science Research (ASR) is an honors level three-year elective program, modeled after the successful science research program at Toms River Regional School District. This program provides students with an opportunity to explore the natural and social sciences first hand. In this first year of ASR, students will identify their area of interest as they learn how to dissect a research paper. Also, students will identify and attempt to contact a professional who is an expert in their field of interest. Furthermore, students will collaborate on a research project through the Waksman Student Scholars Program (WSSP) at Rutgers University. ASR students will share their research topics at our end of year symposium (details to follow). Second and third-year research students are provided an opportunity to conduct research and compete at local and state-level competitions. Furthermore, college credits through UHS are available to second and third-year ASR students.
