Happy New Year!!! The class will be studying weather and climate in Literacy. During this unit, the students will practice reading nonfiction and how to research a specific topic. They will also work together in a team to develop an informational poster which will be presented to the class. We will be writing a persuasive opinion essay, complete with a call to action for the reader. Math finds us using operations with whole numbers to solve problems. Choosing sides during the American Revolutionary War is our topic in Social Studies. During this unit, the students will research to better understand how colonists adapted ideas from their European heritage and from Native American groups. This eventually leads them to develop new political economies and religious institutions. Each student will create a postcard, a diary entry, and a political cartoon. They will also role play a colonist of their choice from the early 1700s.
Enjoy the beauty of winter,
