**SCHOOL CLOSED MONDAY, JANUARY 18th for MLK holiday**
We are using synchronous learning. So far, so good, with the exception of technology glitches. hang in there. It is getting better.We are following the hybrid schedule.
Students in-person will be dismissed at 1:15. Then I will be available for small group instruction for any students from 2:15-2:45. (Reading, Writing, and 2:35-3:00 for Math)
You are to log in to your homeroom teacher's google classroom daily at 8:45 to start your school day and take attendance.
Literacy- 9:15-10:15 I am providing in-class resource support for students in Ms. Burke's Literacy Class for Reading and Writing this year. We are working a hydrid schedule. Your child's work will be under the CLASSWORK section on Ms. Burke's Google Classroom. The link to join in Google Meets on remote days is also there. I am also doing Google Meets for reading and writing help daily from 2:15-2:35. Let me know if you need help You do not need to attend every day or the whole period, just as needed. Writing is 10:15-10:55. We are writing opinion/argument 5 paragraph essays. I have been teaching lessons on the format for each paragraph. I sent examples in the "OPINION TOOLBOX" under Ms. Burke's classwork on her google classroom page if you need help or reminders.
Math- I am providing pull-out replacement math services for students in the third/fourth/ fifth grades as of December. The students will be using Pearson- Savaas again this year. Your child will be exposed to the common core standards for the third/fourth/fifth grade levels, with objectives to address individualized skills. We will be using the Instructional Videos, lessons, Buddy Practices,Reteaching, and homework to go along with the skills being taught or focused upon. We will have access to several computer-based lessons, games and activities to engage and challenge students and hopefully find a way to let them experience math in a variety of ways to help them learn and practice math skills. Extra math help daily 2:35-3:00 if needed to review lesson, prior lessons, homework.
