    About the teacher: c

Mrs. Eisenschmied is a seasoned educator with many years of experience.  Starting out in the New York City Public School system, she taught Chorus and Band, was musical director for the annual spring musical, worked for the NYC Board of Examiners in testing and licensing of music teachers, and served for many years as team leader/department chair for a middle school magnet school for performing arts. Career highlights in NY included performing at Carnegie Hall, and working with the Juilliard School and Metropolitan Opera educational outreach programs, and the Midori Foundation.

After re-locating with her family to Jackson, Mrs. Eisenschmied worked with the Jackson Civic Chorus as accompanist and later, as director.  She focused on raising her family (3 boys) with her husband, and worked as a substitute teacher in the district.  In 2007, she happily joined the district as a full-time teacher and has been the choral director at Goetz Middle School since that time.
