November Principal's Message

The fall foliage is a beautiful sight to see around our community surroundings. You know only too well that the seasons can provide us with a different feeling in the outdoor air. There may be a chilly feeling early on in the morning, but there is warmth that begins to spread throughout our school once students enter and filter into their classrooms. I am happy to report that the students are getting used to the routines of school, the academic demands of a new grade level, and the expectations of a new school year.

November is a time intended for giving thanks.  Please ask your child what they are doing to support this important character trait.  How are they showing thankfulness and appreciation? I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for taking the time to read with your children, checking homework, communicating with your child’s teacher and countless other things you do as a parent to encourage and support the education of your son or daughter.   We are very fortunate to have a school community with a nurturing staff, happy students, and caring parents.

We are using an updated math series this year called Envision 2.0. There are great online resources available.  Please log on to the website with your child to review what he/she has learned at school.

The directions are as follows:

  1. Website:
  2. At the Pearson sign in page – click the box that says Pearson EasyBridge Plus & Auto
  3. Where it says choose your district – type and select: JACKSON TWP SCHOOL DISTRICT – INTLogin: Student ID #*Kindergarten students must put KF as the grade after the name.

  5. Student Log In:

Along with supporting school at home, it would be greatly appreciated if even more parents could become actively involved with the home/school connection which provides many of the extras for our school. There are many ways you can contribute to H.O.P.E, even if your time is very limited.  A big thank you goes out to all of the H.O.P.E parent volunteers who helped last month with our Special Persons Day, Fall Festival, and the Book Fair.   Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Lucy N. Holman School will be holding conferences the week of Nov 14th – 17th.  With the exception of Friday, this is a shortened week schedule.  The students will be going home at 1:15 during that week, Monday – Thursday.  Friday will be a FULL DAY! It is vitally important for you to attend at conference time in order to discuss your child’s progress with his/her teacher.  All faculty and staff members are in the building during afternoon conferences for your convenience so that you may communicate with the teachers that instruct your child.  To help us with scheduling, please log on to the parent portal and sign up for your conference.  Information is on our school website.  The last day to sign up for a conference is on Friday, November 4, 2016.
