Dear Johnson Families,
Good afternoon, I hope everyone had a great week. It may be hard to believe but the school year is quickly reaching an end. We still have a few grade level trips and activities planned. We also have some special events planned for the 5th grade as well as their Moving Up Ceremony on June 17th. More information will be coming home soon.
We just finished the Literacy and Math sections of the NJSLA Testing. We will continue with makeups next week and the 5th grade will complete the Science section of the NJSLA on May 29th and May 30th. We encourage you to visit the district’s “Understanding Assessments and Grading’’ resource page, which has a host of information about the PARCC and other assessments – including:
- Thefull testing calendar for each school;
- A list ofFrequently Asked Questions (FAQ);
- Sample tests, videos and more.
Thank you to Mrs. Donnelly and Mrs. Ehlers for hosting the Young Authors and Artist’s Night on May 2nd. It was great to see so many of you supporting our Johnson students and all their hard work. Last week the PTO held the annual plant sale. The students enjoyed the opportunity to choose plants for the special women in their lives. Thank you to the PTO and HCJ families and volunteers who provided wonderful dishes and desserts for Teacher Appreciation Week! Everything was delicious and all the staff were very grateful!
The Johnson School’s lost and found is literally overflowing with all sorts of clothing items, water bottles, headbands, jewelry, and more collected throughout the year. The items will be displayed on the stage in the All Purpose Room and students will have the opportunity to check during their lunch. Upon the start of summer break all items left behind will be donated.
Just a reminder, we have a 1:55pm dismissal on May 24th and school will be closed for Memorial Day on May 27th.
If you are moving during the summer and will be transferring your child(ren), please contact the main office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00AM and 4:00PM. If you are moving within the Jackson School District, you will need to sign an Internal Transfer Form and provide proofs of your new residency before your child’s records can be transferred. If you are moving out of the Jackson School District, you will need to sign a Student Transfer Verification Form. A transfer card and a copy of your child(ren)’s health records(s) will be provided to register at a new school. The following information is needed to complete the transfer card: new home address, new school name, and the new school address.
