Principal's Message, December 6, 2019
December 6, 2019
Dear Johnson Families,
Good afternoon, I hope everyone had a wonderful week. As we quickly move into the holiday season and closer to winter break, we will be celebrating with classroom parties and activities. I would like to remind parents to check with their child’s teacher or class coordinator to see if you are invited to your child’s classroom party as we can only accommodate a limited amount of visitors in the building each day due to parking and space limitations.
During the month of December as part of our HCJ A.O.K. Acts of Kindness, we are collecting the following items for boys and girls between the ages of three and eleven for the “Giving Tree”: waterproof gloves, scarves, socks, pajamas and underwear. All donations can be hung on the “Giving Tree” or placed in the box below in the front lobby through December 13th. We have had our “Giving Tree” in the past and have always collected an abundance of items that have helped people in our area.
We are also teaming up with the Jackson Memorial Interact Club to collect donations for The Jackson Animal Shelter. Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby through December 17th. These pets need your help this holiday season. Please see the items needed in the flyer below.
The PTO will be hosting the Holiday Shop on December 10th, 11th and 12th. The students will have an opportunity to purchase gifts for family and friends. Only the Pre-school and Kindergarten parents will be invited to shop with their child/children. With all other grades, PTO volunteers will be available to assist with gift purchases. Please see the attached flyer and schedule.
Don’t forget our Holiday Cookie Party is taking place Thursday, December 12th from 6-8pm. Registrations are due by December 10th.
Just a reminder, we will have a shortened day of school on Friday, December 20th and school will be closed from December 23rd through January 1st. We return from the winter break on January 2nd and the first trimester report cards will be available January 3rd on the Parent Portal.
I hope you enjoy the holidays!
