Principal's June Letter

June Parent Letter,

As the end of the year quickly approaches, I have some important information to pass on.

First, I would like to thank the PTA for all their efforts during Teacher Appreciation Week.  This year the theme was the Oscars and the PTA delivered on making our staff feel like movie stars.  Our staff was showered with a breakfast, lunch, a popcorn social and were given a variety of tokens of appreciation throughout the week.  The teachers and I can not thank the ladies of the PTA enough for making us feel so special.

The Moving Up Ceremony will be on Tuesday, June 20th at 10 AM in the All Purpose Room.  This year all fifth graders will be issued three tickets for the ceremony.  The tickets will serve as identification for those attending.  NO ONE will be admitted to the ceremony without a ticket. Strollers WILL NOT be permitted in the APR.  We will provide an alternate location for parking strollers while the ceremony is underway.  The tickets will be issued to your child on Friday, June 9th at the end of the day.  Please make sure to secure those tickets when your child arrives at home.  Space is limited and we will not be able to replace lost tickets.  For those families requiring extra tickets, please write a note to your child’s teacher requesting the extra tickets needed or email Mr. Polakowski at .

Extra tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

I have also sent a 5th grade Happening Letter home, with all 5th Graders.  This a great time of year for our outgoing students.  The activities planned by both the staff and the PTA are fun and will leave lasting memories.  I have gone over these events with the 5th graders and reminded them that these events are perks for hard work and good behavior.  Students who fail to meet expectations can be excluded.  All of this was laid out in my Social Probation meeting that each 5th grader heard before Spring Break.  Social Probation is now in effect, so I recommend reviewing the powerpoint posted on the school website with your 5th grader.

I have listed all the events for the month of June below.  Thank you and have a wonderful end of the school year!

Parent Survey on Elementary Homework
The Jackson School District is interested in getting feedback from parents and guardians about homework in our elementary schools. We'd like to get your opinions and thoughts on both the AMOUNT of homework your children are assigned, and your thoughts on how VALUABLE homework is to their education.
Please take a few moments to share your thoughts with us. This survey is anonymous - your email address or personal information will NOT being collected. The survey should take less than three minutes. It will close on June 16.
