Principal's November Letter

Dear Rosenauer Parents,

With October coming to an end, we look to Halloween and parent conferences, which are right around the corner.  On October 31st, we will have our Halloween parade.  Students in kindergarten through grade 3 will march in the parade.  Students in 4th and 5th grade will line up in the back of the building to watch.  Our Pre-K programs will have their own parades.  AM Pre-K will march on the basketball court at 12:00PM and our PM Pre-K classes will march at 3:30PM in the same location. I have posted a letter in our Backpack to parents regarding our Halloween parade on October 31 and clarification on what the expectations are for costumes.  Please read the document before purchasing and sending your child/children to school with a costume.

A very special thank you to all our students, staff and parents for their support for “Ocean of Love”.  It is truly amazing how such a small school can make such a huge impact on our community.  Over the course of 5 days we were able to raise an incredible $1025 to help children with cancer.  I am so proud of our kids and their heart-warming citizenship!  I have posted a picture of myself Duct Taped to the wall on our website. I guess I will do just about anything for a worthy charity!

I will hand-deliver the money today (Friday) between 3:00-4:00PM, and hope to have an opportunity to speak on air about how special the students, families and staff in our community are. So, please tune in to 105.7!

Parent conferences are scheduled for November 13th through November 16th.  We will have ½ days for those 4 days.  School will dismiss at 1:55 Monday through Thursday, so please plan accordingly.  On Friday, we will be be back to a  full day and school will let out at 3:30.  As was the case last year, parents need to go into Genesis to sign up for parent conferences.  If you are unable to access the sign-up sheet, it is probably a result of not completing the annual notices and permission slips required at the beginning of each school year.  If you are an “opt-out” family, these forms have already been sent home and need to be completed and returned.  Directions are listed below:

Parents can utilize the parent Portal to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher at a time that works for you.

To do this:

  • Log into your Portal account and select the CONFERENCES tab at the top. Then, select the “Request a Conference’’ link.
  • Change the date on the window to the Week of November 13 and see what time slots are available for your child’s teacher. Once completed, you will see your reserved conference on the main page of the CONFERENCES tab. You can use this link to cancel, or change, the conference if you need to.

Please schedule your conference(s) by Wednesday, November 8!

Conference Scheduling Instructions.

We will be celebrating American Education Week during Parent Conference Week. We are welcoming parents to sit and observe classroom lesson.  The schedule for each grade is noted below under the school events list.

This will be a great opportunity to see teachers and students working together to grow in reading, writing, math, science and social studies skills needed to excel in middle school and beyond.

Parents, please remember that we offer breakfast to all students, everyday.  Every student has the opportunity to purchase a breakfast between 9:10 when the school opens, to students, until 9:25, when students report to homeroom.
