June Principal's Letter
As the end of the year quickly approaches, I have some important information to pass on.
First, I would like to thank the PTA for all their efforts during Teacher Appreciation Week. This year the theme was a day at the ballpark and the PTA delivered on making our staff feel like major league baseball players. Our staff was showered with a breakfast, lunch, a grab bag gift and a variety of tokens of appreciation throughout the week. The teachers and I can not thank the ladies of the PTA enough for making us feel so special.
The Moving Up Ceremony will be on Tuesday, June 19th at 10 AM in the All Purpose Room. This year all fifth graders will be issued three tickets for the ceremony. The tickets will serve as identification for those attending. NO ONE will be admitted to the ceremony without a ticket. Strollers WILL NOT be permitted in the APR. We will provide an alternate location for parking strollers while the ceremony is underway. The tickets will be issued to your child on Wednesday, June 13th at the end of the day. Please make sure to secure those tickets when your child arrives at home. Space is limited and we will not be able to replace lost tickets. For those families requiring extra tickets, please write a note to your child’s teacher requesting the extra tickets needed or email Mr. Polakowski at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Extra tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis.
I have also sent a 5th grade Happening Letter home, with all 5th Graders. This a great time of year for our outgoing students. The activities planned by both the staff and the PTA are fun and will leave lasting memories. I have gone over these events with the 5th graders and reminded them that these events are perks for hard work and good behavior. Students who fail to meet expectations can be excluded. All of this was laid out in my Social Probation meeting that each 5th grader heard before Spring Break. Social Probation is now in effect, so I recommend reviewing the powerpoint posted on the school website with your 5th grader.
The link below is an early look at our Summer Slide Prevention Letter. Our goal is to provide engaging activities for our students to work on at home. Our hope is this summer work will result in minimal achievement decline over the summer months. Please keep an eye out for the paper copy of this and grade specific high frequency words and math facts for your child to practice over the summer.
Additionally, I am excited to announce that our librarian, Mrs. Brenner, will provide workshops over the summer to introduce fun ways to practice these facts and words. Please look out for her packet coming home, which includes all dates and times these workshops are available over the summer. It will also include a summer reading log that will be due in September.
Also, a letter will be going home shortly asking any Rosenauer families if they will be moving out of our area over the summer. If you will be relocating, please complete the information requested. We will forward your child's records to the new school.
As always, I am committed to supporting our learners throughout the year, these are 2 ways that together we can provide a strong home-school connection.
