Call to Action
To the Families of Rosenauer Students:
Call To Action to Help Restore and Preserve Millions in State Aid to Our Students - Learn More at our PTA Meeting Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
I want to encourage all Rosenauer community members to attend our PTA meeting on Wednesday, February 13th at 7 p.m.
Superintendent of Jackson Schools Stephen Genco will be updating our PTA and all in attendance about the impact of the recently adopted school funding law that caused the district to lose $1.35 million in state aid for the current year and threatens to cost us $17 million in lost aid over the next seven years. This new funding law is referred to as S2.
Dr. Genco and the board have been very vocal about the ways the district is fighting for fair funding for our district. Our district is involved in a class action lawsuit alongside other districts in the area, we have been at the forefront of lobbying and communication efforts with lawmakers and we are launching an awareness campaign to fight for the funding our children deserve.
Please join me at our PTA meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 13th at 7 p.m. in the Library to hear more about this situation and about how you can help to send a clear message to lawmakers to help divert the devastating financial impact that will be caused by the reductions that are called for in S2.
I thank you in advance for joining me to work with Dr. Genco and our Rosenauer community to help support our students. The link below includes the information about:
- The law and funding changes
- The impact on our district finances
- How YOU can help by calling, writing and emailing our legislators.
