Welcome Back! Principal's Message
Dear Rosenauer Parents,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 academic year at Rosenauer Elementary School!
On behalf of the staff and myself, we are extremely excited about the upcoming school year and anticipate our families are anxious to begin as well.
The building is ready and looking great! We are all eager to welcome back the students and families to our wonderful community. The year ahead is full of great experiences for all. In order to set our year up for success, please review the following information carefully.
During the first 2 weeks of school, Bus Pick-Up and Drop-Off times may fluctuate, as our bus drivers acclimate to new routes and new faces! Delays are to be expected. With safety as our main concern, I do not allow the busses to leave the campus until I am sure that all of our students are on the correct bus. Once the busses depart, walkers will be released. Thank you for your patience as we adjust to a new school year.
With student safety as our primary concern, if you are planning on picking up or dropping off your child, you will not be permitted to park in the front lot from 9:00AM - 9:30AM as well as at the end of the day from 3:00PM - 3:30PM. Please be mindful of the staff who will be enforcing this safety rule.
Parents are NOT permitted to sign out children after 3:15PM, this minimizes confusion at the end of the day. Please call ahead when you plan on signing students out, or send a note with your child. This helps us expedite this process.
NEW Pick up and Drop off Parking rules: NO PARKING/ACCESS for parents in the rear in parking lot as well as on the Rosenauer side of New Hampshire Road. Parents starting September 5th will have access to the front parking lot. Parents/guest will only be restricted during Pre-K drop off and pick up times which are from 9:15 to 9:45 AM. We have 20 parking spaces in the front lot that parents are welcome to use. Our school buses will be dropping students off and picking students up on New Hampshire. We believe this will provide greater safety to our walkers as they walk home down New Hampshire and onto Bryant street. The multiple crosswalks located around the campus are very active before and after school, the children have the right of way. We have a large walker population who utilize the crossings before and after school. Thank you for your support towards maintaining the safety of our Rosenauer community.
All required student information (emergency cards, to be photographed, etc) completed by parents, will need to be entered via the Genesis Program. These online forms must be completed before gaining access to the parent portal. Please take the time to complete all forms at your earliest convenience. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
The district will block out access to the parent portal after the 2nd week of school, for those who have not completed the forms.
Our first PTA meeting will be held on September 11th at 7PM, in our Library. I will host a new program called, Coffee with the Principal. This is an opportunity for parents who want to get involved or stay updated with the PTA and building events but are unable to attend the PTA meetings, held at night. A translator will be present at all Coffee with the Principal meetings for our families where English is not the first language. The first Coffee with the Principal is on Monday, September 16th at 10AM.
During the week of September 16th, Back to School Nights begin. On September 17th we will welcome our Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade parents. Pre-K parents are invited to attend a general meeting at 5:30 PM in the All Purpose Room. Mrs. Caloia’s AM parents meet at 5:00 PM in classroom K-2. On Monday, September 23rd we will be welcoming our parents who have students in grades 3 to 5. This event will begin at 7:00PM in the All Purpose Room. After the general meeting, parents will meet with teachers in classrooms.
Breakfast is available to all students ~ everyday. Each student has the option to purchase a breakfast between 9:10, when school opens to students, until 9:25 when students report to homeroom.

Communication is key! Parent involvement is vital for students to succeed in school. That includes checking the portal, school website, teacher’s class page and becoming a member of the PTA. These are excellent means for retrieving important information. The PTA will be notified about disruption days, due to weather, and bus delays. The PTA in turn posts a notification on their website/facebook page. Look for my monthly letter that includes important updates and information!
IMMUNIZATION REMINDER for 6th GRADE PARENTS:
Are You the Parent of a 6th Grade or Pre-School student this year? Please remember that you MUST send in your child's immunization update as soon as possible, but no later than Oct. 7, 2019.
If we do not receive proof of immunization by that date, your child will be excluded from attending school as of Oct. 8, 2019.
Please see our Immunization Update Form to bring to your doctor. The form should be returned to your school nurse. If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse.
