Principal's Message - November 2019

Hello Goetz Family,

The 1st Marking Period has come to a close, and we are on our way to new experiences and wonderful opportunities. The 2019-2020 school year is off to a great start, and we appreciate your support as we build on this early momentum.

Academically, The Carl W. Goetz Middle School is maintaining the high standards we have set by performing as one of the top schools in Ocean County! Great job to our students, staff, and the community for supporting the initiatives that are paying these dividends!

Our Fall Sports teams maintained the tradition of excellence with competitive squads and remained in the hunt for conference championships, including the top spot for our Field Hockey Team. Our Girl’s Cross Country team walked away with a 1st place finish at the Meet of Champions! Our Winter Sports are looking for a strong start to continue that success. The highly distinguished Band and Chorus programs continue to shine with upcoming Winter Concerts and our next crop of students being selected as All Shore selections.

At Goetz, we are continuing to recognize students for their positive character traits through our R.A.C.E.R. program. The students are learning how to be responsible members of the community through initiatives such as the Builder’s Club “Make A Wish” walk and another successful “Unity Day” program. The feedback on our new Advisory Period has been overwhelmingly positive. It is wonderful to watch students thrive by developing their social and emotional learning skills.

Thank you for all you do to support our school. We look forward to a fantastic 2020!

Sincerely’

Mr. Perino
