Winter Athletics - Spectator Information for High School and Middle Schools
FOR HS and MS Families:
Information About Attending Winter Athletic Events
in the Jackson School District
We are excited to begin the winter athletic season here in the Jackson School District. In order to provide a safe and secure environment and to adhere to COVID-related protocols, please take a moment to read the following information. Much of this information remains the same from last year’s indoor seasons.
Seating in the gyms will be marked to indicate social distancing.
A sign will be placed at the entrance for each event to remind spectators that a mask is required, recommend seating socially distanced, and not to enter if they are experiencing symptoms.
There are no established capacity limits (unless we have a very large event scheduled). If we deem an event as very large, then we will set a limit for that specific game and count the number of attendees as they enter until we reach the limit. We will do our best to post a message about these limits ahead of time.
Tickets will not be sold to events (they were not sold last year, either).
Concessions will be allowed, but there will be a strict requirement that there is no eating or drinking in the gyms.
Locker Room usage will be allowed, but the duration in the locker rooms should be kept to under 15 minutes.
If a student tests positive and indicates that they attended a game, they will be asked for any specific people who they know they were in close contact with at that game so we can contact them. It is not feasible to access video footage for all sporting events to determine this information.
