Information for Vo-Tech and MATES, PAA, and ALP Students when Vo-Tech is Open but the Jackson School District is Closed.

TRANSPORTATION TO OUT-OF-DISTRICT SCHOOLS:

This information below applies only to Vo-Tech academies and Vo-Tech programs and special education out-of-district schools that are open when the district is closed due to NON-WEATHER-RELATED Reasons. If the district is closed due to WEATHER, there is no transportation to any schools.

  • Transportation to out-of-district special education schools will continue as normal. Please be at your bus stop at your normal time unless you hear otherwise from your out-of-district school.
  • High School students who attend the Vo-Tech half-day programs and the Vo-Tech academies (MATES, PAA, ALPS) will be transported to and from those schools in accordance with our procedures below (this is similar to the procedure on the first day of Vo-Tech earlier this year).

Please read the information below carefully. 

If you are not in a position to get to the school listed below to receive the district transportation described below, please let your Vo-Tech program or Vo-Tech academy school know.

Vo-Tech AM: Students must get their own ride to their home high school by 7 a.m. They are then transported by district buses to Vo-Tech. After their program, they are transported back to their home high school. They must get their own ride home from their home high school at 10 a.m.

Vo-Tech PM: Students must get their own ride to their home HS by 10 a.m. They are then transported by district buses to Vo-Tech. After their program, they are transported back to their home high school. They must get their own ride home from their home high school at 1:25 p.m.

MATES and ALPS: Students must get their own ride to Jackson MEMORIAL HS (regardless of your home HS) by 6:15 a.m. They are then transported on district buses to MATES or ALPS. After their program, they are transported back to Jackson MEMORIAL HS and must get their own ride home at 2:40 p.m.

PAA: Students must get their own ride to Jackson LIBERTY HS (regardless of your home HS) by 7 a.m. They are then transported by district buses to PAA at OCC. After their program, they are transported back to Jackson LIBERTY HS and must get their own ride home at 2:20 p.m.
