Principal Message June 2019
Dear Elms Families,
Another amazing school year is coming to a close, but the remaining days are packed with planned celebrations and lots of learning. When reflecting upon all of the accomplishments and wonderful memories that this year has provided, we feel truly grateful to the students and staff that help make Elms an incredible school. We would also like to say thank you to our wonderful PTN for all of the enriching opportunities and resources that they provide to our students throughout the year. It truly takes a village to raise and educate a child and we couldn’t be more proud of this community.
Thank you to Mr. D’Ambrosio for all of the planning and coordination he has put into ensuring that our kindergarten through fifth-grade students have a day filled with exercise, sportsmanship, and smiles. Please make sure your child brings a towel, drink, and has sunscreen applied at home, as teachers are not permitted to do so.

This year’s PTN sponsored Fun Run took place on Friday, May 17th and was a huge success! Thank you to all of the families who came out to support the event and watch their children compete in the races. The turnout this year surpassed last year’s “Run” and we are excited to continue to grow this traditional event.
A heavy crowd populated the school on Tuesday, May 22nd for Elms 1st Multicultural Night. The evening was dedicated to all of the diverse families that help make the Elms community a truly special and unique place. The night included various skits, singing performances, diversity centers, and classroom projects featuring countries and cultures from all over the world. Our “Cupcake Wars” event capped off the night as families designed cupcakes and tables celebrating various countries from all across our globe. All entries were judged and scored in 4 different categories. Congratulations to all of our winning contestants!
Blue Claws Night
The Blue Claws celebrated the Elms School community on Tuesday, June 4th with a special Elms Night. Our chorus ensemble was featured by singing the National Anthem. In addition, the first pitch was thrown out by a 5th-grade student who has exemplified excellent character traits all year long and embodies what it means to be an Elms Tiger. Congratulations to Brendan Beldowicz in Ms. Konopack’s class! Congratulations to the Osborn family, winners of the Blue Claws Luxury Sweet!
