June Principal's Message
Dear Holman Families:
I want to thank all of the teachers, students, and parents for all of their hard work during this difficult time. I encourage you to visit the District webpage for all information regarding COVID-19, including remote lesson plans, technology tools that will help parents and students, and support. I would also like to thank H.O.P.E for all of their support and contributions to our school. As we approach the final stretch of the school year and begin the summer months ahead, I encourage you to continue to read and practice addition/subtraction/multiplication/division math facts with your child to help strengthen and retain math skills over the summer. Have a safe and relaxing summer! We all need it. I continue to remain hopeful for a start in September, but, as always, remain patient to hear from our Governor and other state officials regarding the guidelines to follow.

Message from Ms. DeMatteo, the Holman School nurse
I hope everyone is staying healthy during this difficult time. If your child or someone your child has come in close contact with is sick please email me directly at adematteo@jacksonsd.org. All of the district nurses are working hard to track ANY illnesses within our district to ensure a safe return for when the schools reopen. I hope everyone continues to stay safe and healthy!
IMPORTANT - For any student who has medication in the nurse's office, the medication will be kept locked in the office until September. If your child will continue to need that medication for the 2020/2021 school year we will just need a new doctor's order in September and can keep that medication for the year. If your child's medication is expiring before the 2020/2021 school year, I will reach out to you to inform you of this. If your child needs the medication that is in the nurse's office for the Summer months please contact Ms. DeMatteo as soon as possible via email at adematteo@jacksonsd.org to set up a time to pick the medication up.
Chromebook and Internet-ready Device Returns
If you borrowed a Chromebook or Internet-ready Device from the district, it will need to be returned. Returns will occur after the school year ends at a given location. Teachers have also been given lists of students who borrowed technology in order to individually remind parents of returns. More information will be forthcoming.
Chromebook Use and Student School Email Accounts
As a reminder….Even during these stressful times of remote learning, students must comply with all school district policies for the use of a school district provided technology device and school email account. Students should NOT being using district devices and/or their student school email accounts to create unauthorized chats or Google Hangouts. As per District Policy #7523, “a student shall be subject to consequences in the event the pupil violates any school district policy, including the district’s acceptable use policies; pupil code of conduct; any provision of this Policy; or any provision of the School District Provided Technology Device Form.” Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
Are you moving?
Whether it’s down the block, across town in Jackson, or to a completely different state, if you are moving, please make sure that you contact the main office to update your records or have your files transferred.
Special Area Teachers
Please remember to visit your Special Area Teachers’ Webpages or Google Classrooms every week. Your Special Area Teachers are creating lessons/assignments for you to work on and it is important for you to complete that work each week.
Students will be graded in these Unified Arts subjects for the 3rd Trimester based on their submission of assigned work to their Special Area Teachers. Check each assignment to see how it is to be submitted (through Google Classroom, by emailing an answer or photograph, or by marking the assignment as done for the teacher).
Remember, your grade in these special subjects depends upon you submitting your work to the teacher.
Here are the links to each Special Area Teacher’s webpages:
