Principal's Message, December 14, 2018

December 14, 2018

Dear Johnson Families,

Good afternoon, I hope everyone had a wonderful week. As we quickly move into the holiday season and closer to winter break, we will be celebrating with classroom parties and activities.  I would like to remind parents to check with their child’s teacher or class coordinator to see if you are invited to your child’s classroom party as we can only accommodate a limited amount of visitors in the building each day due to parking and space limitations.

Just a reminder for students and staff, the size order form and payment for the 5th grade chorus shirt is due by Dec. 19th

The PTO introduced our first Pallet Paint & Pastry Party on November 29th and it was a great success.  Attendees enjoyed pastries and shopping with select holiday vendors, while painting their own masterpiece!  Last night the PTO held our annual Cookie Decorating Party.  They had cookies to decorate, hot chocolate, crafts and more.  It was a great event!  They also hosted the Holiday Shop where students had the opportunity to purchase gifts for family and friends.  Thank you to everyone for making these events a success!  Today, Kindergarten joined in on the winter celebrations with Elf day and some of our classes boarded the Polar Express.  All of the children looked fantastic and had a wonderful time.

During the month of December, we have been collecting new gloves, scarves, mittens, socks, and hats for our “Giving Tree”. We have had our “Giving Tree” in the past and have always procured an abundance of items that have helped people in our area. Thank you for your support.

Just a reminder, we will have a shortened day of school on Friday, December 21st and school will be closed from December 24th through January 1st.  We return from the winter break on January 2nd and the first marking period report cards will be available January 3rd on the Parent Portal.

I hope you enjoy the holidays!

Our Occupational and Physical Therapists want to see our students on the "path" to success!!!  Ask them about the Sensory Path!
