InView Testing for Grades 2, 4, 6 Will Be Held on Jan. 3rd and 4th

InView Testing for Grades 2, 4, 6 Will Be Held on Jan. 3rd and 4th

On January 3rd and 4th students in Grades 2, 4 and 6 will be taking a cognitive abilities assessment called the InView Assessment.

The InView Assessment is a broad-based evaluation that includes questions on verbal, nonverbal and quantitative reasoning. It is widely considered to be a measurement of the skills and abilities most directly related to academic success.

The Jackson School District has been utilizing this assessment for years. It provides us with:

  • An accurate and reliable measure of inductive and deductive reasoning processes—abilities crucial for academic success;
  • A valuable measure of quantitative reasoning, not reliant on math questions and free of gender bias;
  • Insightful information about student skills that are valid predictors of student academic success; and
  • The ability to identify students for placement in the most appropriate learning programs.

The test will take approximately two and a half hours (split between two days) and is administered with paper and pencil in a classroom setting. It requires no prior test preparation activities.

If your child is ill and absent, make-up test dates are scheduled for Jan. 5th and Jan. 8th.
