Read Across America - StoryWalk

Dear Johnson School Families -

This year we’ll be celebrating Read Across America with a brand new StoryWalk, and you’re invited to join in the fun!  You’re probably wondering what a StoryWalk is…

“StoryWalk is an innovative and delightful way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.  Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path.  As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story.”  Kellogg Hubbard Library

You are invited to check out our StoryWalk with your family on Tuesday, March 1st, anytime between 3:45 - 5:30 pm.  (Rain date:  Thursday, March 3rd)  This activity is self-guided, and students must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  Student readers may visit the school during the dates/session times listed above and complete the StoryWalk with an adult chaperone.  Please remember to observe social distancing guidelines while enjoying our selected story.  The StoryWalk will begin at the flagpole in front of our school, and will loop around the building’s perimeter.

This year our StoryWalk was graciously sponsored by the Jackson Education Association.  We are grateful for their continued support of our library program!  I hope that you and your family enjoy this activity!

Happy Reading!

Ms. Hogan
