Dear Johnson Families,
Good afternoon, I hope everyone had a wonderful week. As we quickly move into the holiday season and closer to winter break, we will be celebrating with classroom parties and activities. I would like to remind parents to check with their child’s teacher or class coordinator to see if you are invited to your child’s classroom party as we can only accommodate a limited amount of visitors in the building each day due to parking and space limitations.
I would like to thank the PTO for hosting last night’s Cookie Decorating Party. It was a pleasure to see everyone having a great time! Last week the PTO also hosted the Holiday Shop where students had the opportunity to purchase gifts for family and friends. Yesterday, Kindergarten joined in on the winter celebrations with Elf day. All of the children looked fantastic and had a wonderful time. Next week we can look forward to our first grade classes celebrating Grinch Day! Thank you to everyone for making these events a success!
During the month of December, we have been collecting new gloves, scarves, mittens, socks, and hats for our “Giving Tree”. We have had our “Giving Tree” in the past and have always procured an abundance of items that have helped people in our area. Thank you for your support.
We are also teaming up with the Jackson Memorial Interact Club to collect donations for The Jackson Animal Shelter. Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby through December 20th. These pets need your help this holiday season. Please see the items needed in the flyer below.
Just a reminder, we will have a shortened day of school on Friday, December 22nd and school will be closed from December 25th through January 1st. When we return from the winter break on January 2nd, report cards will be available on the Parent Portal.
I hope you enjoy the holidays!
Thanks so much to everyone for a terrific fall full of fun events and successful fundraisers! We are looking forward to more fun in 2018!

FAMILY BINGO NIGHT is Friday, January 19! We will have two sessions. Registration forms will go home right after break.
WINTER BOX TOPS DRIVE starts January 2! Get your Box Tops in to earn money for our school! The contest entry flyer will go home after break.
OUR NEXT PTO MEETING is Wednesday January 17. At 6:30 PM, we will have a Talent Show Informational Meeting where you will learn about our procedures for this year's talent show. Anyone with a child interested in the Talent Show should attend. At 7:00 PM, we will have our regular monthly PTO meeting to talk about our spring events and other business.
