Dear Johnson Families,
Good afternoon, I hope everyone enjoyed a great winter break with family and friends. The New Year is off to an excellent start despite the snow and cold. Our second and fourth graders took the In-view test when we returned from break and we began conducting our school wide spelling bee. Congratulations to our five finalists, Mohammad AsiMahmoud, Aaron Neitzel, Jenna Cocuzza, Manav Patel and Dean DiMaggio, who will represent Johnson in the District Spelling Bee on April 12th at the Jackson Liberty High School.
The fifth graders are diligently preparing for the Johnson winter concert. The concert will be held on January 25th at 7PM at the Jackson Memorial High School Fine Arts Building. This event is sure to be a lot of fun and I hope to see many of you at the show. Don’t forget to stop by Farley’s for some ice cream after the show! All day on January 25th, our PTO gets a portion of the sales donated to us by Farley’s when you mention you are from Johnson School.
Order your 2018 Yearbook today! The online store closes Jan. 31st and orders will not be accepted after this date.
CHANGES TO JSD CALENDAR DUE TO SNOW DAYS:
Due to the two snow days we incurred this month, we have adjusted the Jackson School District calendar. The impact on the calendar is below.
As we have done in the past, we are pushing our Transition Day two days so we can keep the proper number of days in each marking period.
- This means Jackson Schools will be CLOSED for STUDENTS ONLY on Thursday, Feb. 1 (instead of Jan. 30).
- Staff Transition Day / K-8 In-Service Day will now be on Feb. 1.
Also, to make up the snow days, we are adding two days to the end of the year.
The new TENTATIVE last day of school for students is now June 19. Please keep in mind this date is subject to change if we have additional closures.
These snow days also impacted the marking period end dates and dates report cards are released. Please view the monthly district calendar online to see those changes

Please remember that at the bottom of our district calendar, we list our plans of action to make up for any unscheduled closings.
