As we do our final preparations for the first day of school on September 6, 2018, we wanted to let you know of a new feature that your students will experience beginning with the first day of school.
School safety is of the utmost importance. In order to continue to strengthen school safety, this year students will be issued student identification cards in grades 9 - 12. These cards will consist of a photo, school name, school year and a bar code that will be used to purchase lunch and required for sign-in in many school offices.
Be issued an ID card in homeroom on day one of school.
Be expected to carry this card with them at all times.
Use the ID card to sign-in in school offices such as guidance and the nurse and be used to purchase lunch (instead of punching in their number they will scan their card)
If an ID card is lost the student needs to notify the appropriate assistant principal’s office, so the card can be replaced. A $5.00 replacement card fee will be applied.
Discipline may be applied if a student fails to demonstrate they are carrying their ID card when asked.
Any questions about the student identification card should be directed to the appropriate assistant principal’s office.
We will be explaining all of this to students during homeroom on the first days of school, but we would appreciate your help in making sure they understand the importance of keeping these cards on them at all times.
