FYI: Gov. Murphy announces in briefing that he may have decision on schools early next week, possibly by Monday, May 4.

May 1 Update:

Dear Jackson School District Families and Staff,

We wanted to send you a quick update to end the week. As you may have heard in today's statewide briefing, Gov. Murphy announced that he may have a decision about whether schools will re-open for this year by early next week, possibly by Monday.

As we anticipate that announcement, and as you head you head into what looks to finally be a nice weekend, we hope you take a moment to join us in continuing to focus on the good. Please take a moment to check out our newest batch of updates on our “We Got This’’ page. This page contains examples of the wonderful ways we are excelling during remote instruction and how our school communities continue to support each other.

Among this week's features on that page is a celebration of Decision Day at our high schools. Class advisors and TV Tech teachers worked together to create videos from students' submissions. The videos celebrate those seniors who have made a decision for what they will be doing next year - whether college, military, or the workforce.

Also, a heads up that next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. In recent weeks we have seen so much deserved appreciation for our teachers, and next week is another chance for us all to continue to show how thankful we are for all the ways they support our students!

Sincerely,

Your Jackson School District Administrative Team
