  • What does the SAC do and how can the SAC help?

    • Individual and group problem-solving, coping skill building, de-escalation, distress tolerance
    • Substance abuse prevention and education programs
    • Consults with parents, staff and students
    • Links students and their families to community resources
    • Promotes health and wellness activities
    • Coordinates awareness speakers and assemblies

    • Body Image/Eating Concerns
    • Risky Behaviors
    • Depression and Anxiety

      By Law, SAC services are confidential as per 42 CFR (NJ.S 18A:40A)

    • The only exceptions are report of: Danger to Self, Danger to Others, Abuse or Neglect, Court or other Legal Proceedings, Drug Distribution

    How to Refer a Student:

    • If my door is open, students are always welcome.
    • Self-referral or Peer referrals are encouraged.
    • Parents/Guardians, Teachers, Administrators and Community Members may call or email me to refer a student.
    • Students can stop by to make an appointment (preferably during a non-academic class)
    • Meeting with the SAC is voluntary, unless a student violates a school policy, in which it may become mandatory.
