• Hello Second Grader!         

                                                   Welcome to second grade at Johnson Elementary! My name is Mrs. Gallipoli.   I am happy to have you in my class this year. I am very excited about meeting you and spending the school year together! I hope you have been enjoying your summer and spending time with your family. I look forward to hearing all about your vacation and the fun things you did!  I have been enjoying summer with my family, which includes my two sons, who you will hear A LOT about!  We also got the chance to read many good books and visit my favorite place…the BEACH!

     In our classroom, we will be creating a “school family”. Just like with your family at home, we will work together, help each other and show respect for each other. It is so nice to come to school each day knowing that you are in a place where everyone welcomes you. You feel safe and feel like you belong to a really close group of friends…just like the way you feel at home!  We are going to be learning a lot of fun things in second grade.

    As the summer comes to a close, I know you will be excited to get your backpack all ready to return to Johnson! To help you out, a copy of the 2nd grade supply list can be found on the bottom of this letter. These are the items that are recommended for you to bring on Thursday, September 5.
