    Read Across America Spirit Week

    Feb. 24th-28th

    • Monday, 2/24- Red, White, & Blue Jeans Day: Wear red, white, and blue to help us kick off Read Across America Week!
    • Tuesday, 2/25- Exercise Your Right to Read Day: Wear your favorite workout gear and be ready to flex your reading muscles!
    • Wednesday, 2/26- Fox in Socks Day: Wear your favorite silly /mismatched socks to school!
    • Thursday, 2/27- Storybook Character Day & Book Fair Night: Come to school dressed as your favorite storybook character. 
    • Friday 2/28- Hats Off to Reading Day: Wear your favorite hat to school!

    This year Johnson School is once again celebrating Read Across America with our annual “Storybook Character Day”. All students and staff are invited to join in the fun by coming to school dressed as their favorite book character on Thursday, February 27th! Sponsored by the NJEA & JEA!

    CS FIRST HOUR OF CODE

    American Library Association Grant Recipients!

    The H.C. Johnson Library was recently selected to be a recipient of an American Library Association mini-grant. Our library is proud to bring CS First Computer Science programming to the forefront of our library program. Library patrons participated in the CS First Hour of Code activities during the month of December, and are continuing to sharpen their coding skills throughout 2020! We are grateful to the ALA for making this possible for our students!

    First Financial Foundation Erma Dorrer Classroom Grant Recipients!

    H.C. Johnson School’s Leaders in the Field program was recently awarded an Erma Dorrer Classroom Grant from members of the First Financial Foundation. Funding from this grant will be used to expand our aquaponic garden and provide students with service learning opportunities which will benefit the local community. Our sincerest thanks to members of the First Financial Foundation!
