• Unit 2: The Pets Study

We are moving on to a new exciting study! Pets are beloved parts of many families and classrooms! Our study on pets not only offers opportunities for children to explore a topic that interests them, but it allows children to gather information, become more aware of the world around them, and solve problems.

Children will explore many types of pets; investigate what pets eat, how they communicate and what they need. They will learn about how people care for pets and learn about jobs related to caring for pets!

Our Social-Emotional Learning Target 2: Following Directions

We're building on the great work students did during the first six weeks! After mastering the skill of using their "listening ears," we are now taking the next step. Our new goal is to help students put their listening skills into action by following directions. This will help them learn to carefully understand and complete multistep instructions, preparing them for more complex tasks in the classroom and beyond!

Unit 1: The First Six Weeks

This first unit of study is The First 6 Weeks - Building Our Classroom Community! This introductory study teaches our preschoolers all about school!

Our Social-Emotional Learning Target 1: Listening

Students are learning the importance of good listening skills. They are learning to listen when someone is speaking and make an effort to understand what they are saying. The steps to good listening are the following : 1. Look 2. Stay still 3. Think.

Learning the skill of using listening is the foundation of learning future social skills!
