    NJ 211 is a statewide nonprofit organization renowned for its 211 call center that operates 24 hours a day for New Jersey’s residents facing a crisis or dealing with a disaster. We maintain a robust and comprehensive directory of over 6,300 government and nonprofit programs, which is continually updated by a team of curators to ensure the most up-to-date information on programs. The directory is used by our specialists when assisting callers and can also be found on our website for easy use by residents.

    Yet it’s our one-to-one, human-centered approach to service delivery that is our trademark. We take great pride in personally interacting with residents and the agencies that serve them. When people dial 211, they reach someone who will listen carefully and guide them to the health and human services resources and services they need

    The Ocean County Department of Human Services was established by the Ocean County Board of Commissioners to initiate and support program development addressing human services needs in Ocean County. The Department aims to facilitate and oversee, through effective partnerships, a comprehensive approach to meeting the needs of at risk individuals and families. The Department is comprised of different Boards and Commissions that focus upon specialized areas of service delivery and program development.

  • Rutgers- The Boggs Center on Disability and Human Development

    The Boggs Center is New Jersey’s federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and part of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Department of Pediatrics. Since its inception in 1983, The Center has emphasized a community-based, lifespan approach to meeting the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. In 2016, The Boggs Center was designated as New Jersey’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (NJLEND) program.

    The Boggs Center prepares students through interdisciplinary programs, provides community training and technical assistance, conducts research, and disseminates information and educational materials.

    To honor her memory, the Center is named for Elizabeth Monroe Boggs, PhD, considered to have been the leading authority in the field of developmental disabilities policy. She coined the term developmental disabilities, spearheaded efforts to create legislation benefitting people with developmental disabilities, and helped to shape the role of Medicaid and Social Security for people with disabilities.
