Safe Schools Week will be held the week of October 19th – 23rd and Red Ribbon Week will be held the week of October 26th – 30th.  Please check the links below or the website for the schedule of activities taking place those weeks.

Safe Schools Week Schedule

Red Ribbon Week Schedule

Halloween will be celebrated at Johnson on Wednesday, October 28th for Group 1 and Thursday, October 29th for Group 2.  Parents of students attending 5 days a week, please check the teacher’s class page for their scheduled day.  Unfortunately, there will not be a parade or parties this year but we are encouraging the students to wear their costumes on their scheduled day.

TRAVEL ADVISORY REQUIREMENTS DURING OUR NOVEMBER BREAK

The district will be closed Nov. 2-6. Please remember that New Jersey's travel advisory calls for individuals traveling to or returning to New Jersey from states with increasing rates of COVID-19 to self-quarantine for 14 days from the time of last presence in the impacted states.  See this link for the NJ Travel Advisory Information and List of States.

Under these state guidelines, if a staff member or child has been in any of the states on the advisory, he or she will not be allowed to attend school until 14 days after his/her last day in that state.

Remember that getting a COVID-19 test when you return does NOT eliminate the need to quarantine. Even if you test negative when you return from travel, the guidelines state that you should still self-quarantine for 14 days after the day you were LAST in one of the listed states/areas.

We kindly request that our families carefully weigh any decisions to travel to impacted areas and to be forthright and honest about travel to any areas on this advisory.

If you are traveling to these areas:

  • If you are a parent of a CHILDwho will be traveling to an impacted area:
    • Please contact your school nurseto alert them of who will be quarantining;
    • The student should work remotely from home and keep pace with the class by following the lessons and work assigned in the Google Classroom. Teachers will work with quarantined students to communicate the work and expectations. As long as the student is signing in and attending  the required Google Meets and completing assignments, attendance will count.

 CONFERENCES ARE NOW DEC. 1-3

Parent-Teacher Conferences Will Now Be Held Dec. 1 - 3. Beginning on Monday, Nov. 9, you will be able to use the Parent Portal to schedule a conference with your child's teacher at a time that works for you. Conferences will be held virtually and also can be arranged by telephone. Please use the Parent Portal to schedule your conferences by Wednesday, Nov. 18.
See more information and instructions on how to schedule a conference on the Portal.

Fall Pictures will take place on Tuesday, December 1st for Group 2 students and Wednesday, December 2nd for Group 1 students.  Please check the teacher's class page, if your child attends 5 days a week.  A schedule for Remote students will be available closer to the date.  Informational packets will also be distributed closer to the date.
