Principal's Message, January 2024

Dear Johnson Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a restful holiday break with family and friends.  We are looking forward to a fabulous New Year here at Johnson School!

Congratulations to the Johnson School 2023 - 2024 Educator of the Year, Mrs. Lisa Cirigliano, a 1st grade teacher, and the Educational Service Professional of the Year, Mrs. Patricia Ciaccio, Johnson’s Guidance Counselor.  We are so proud of you and appreciate all you do!

Thank you to all the families that attended the 3rd Annual Winter Wonderland Event sponsored by our PTO.  Everyone had a blast! A strong partnership between parents and educators is essential for student success. We appreciate your continued support!

The countdown to the 100th Day of School continues!

The 80th Day will be “Totally Rad!” on January 11th and the 90th Day on January 26th will be “All that and a bag of chips!”. On February 12th, Johnson will be celebrating the 100th Day of School and kicking off Random Acts of Kindness Week by performing 100 Random Acts of Kindness and wearing shirts with messages of kindness. See the link for more theme days during Random Acts of Kindness Week.

As we move into the colder months, it's more difficult to keep our students active. Here are some great suggestions to keep your kids moving this winter. Stay Active this Winter!

January 19th will be Snowman Day!  Please see the attached information for more details on how your family can participate.

In an effort to help our community, Mrs. Glushko, Ms. Cook and Mrs. Fucito’s class will be collecting cans of soup for our annual “Soup-er Bowl” event.  Each student is asked to bring in a can of soup and place it in the “TEAM BIN” of who they think will win the Super Bowl.  This is a fun way for our students to learn the importance of helping others.  All Donations will be delivered to the Jackson Food Pantry.  Thank you very much for all of your support.  Donations will be accepted from Monday, February 5th until Friday, February 9th.

*Please do not send any cans in until Mon, Feb. 5th.*

Check your local grocery stores for canned good sales!

Thank you for your support.
