Hello Carley's Kindergarten Cuties!!
I am so very excited to begin our school year! This year is going to be unlike any other and new things await you when school begins. I have been planning and preparing for Day 1 all summer long. No matter what we are learning, I will be doing my best to make this year fun and full of growth!
This year your child will be learning letters, sounds, and how to read. Your child will also learn math, science, and social studies. In conjunction with these core subjects, your child will learn how to cut, paste, color, and draw. The most important part of your child's learning experience this year, however, will be learning how to establish and maintain friendships, be respectful and responsible students and members of the school community, and building a strong self-concept.
While Kindergarten marks an important transition in your child's life, it is important that children still get to be children. I will be helping your child strengthen their social and emotional skills through cooperative learning, play, taking turns, and whole group activities. I look forward to working with you and your child this year.
