Principal's Message, January 2022

Dear Johnson Families,

The New Year is off to an excellent start!

Congratulations to the Johnson School 2021 - 2022 Educator of the Year, Mr. Travis Crozier, a 5th grade teacher, and the Educational Service Professional of the Year, Mrs. Dana Weinstein, Johnson School’s Nurse.  We are so proud of you and appreciate all you do!

Spread the LOVE by sending your student a Valentine’s Day Cookie Gram from Jersey Cookie Girl. The sale is running from 1/24 – 1/31 and each cookie is $5.00.  Students will receive their cookie, in school, on February 11th.  Visit the PTO’s Cheddar Up store to place your order online. Valentine’s Day Cookie Gram Cheddar Up Link .   If you prefer to pay using cash or check (made payable to the HCJ PTO), please complete the order form and return to school. Valentine's Day Cookie Gram Form

Let’s celebrate the 90th Day of School on February 1, 2022!  Rock your scrunchies, flannels, chokers, denim, grungy or oversized outfits! It’s time to get fly in 1990's style!

In an effort to help our community, Mrs. Glushko’s class will be collecting cans of soup for our “Soup-er Bowl” event.  Each student is asked to bring in a can of soup and place it in the “TEAM BIN” of who they think will win the Super Bowl.  This is a fun way for our students to learn the importance of helping others.  All Donations will be delivered to the Jackson Food Pantry.  Thank you very much for all of your support.  Donations will be accepted from Monday, February 7th until Friday, February 11th.

*Please do not send any cans in until Mon, Feb. 7th.*

Check your local grocery stores for canned good sales! Thank you for your support.

Lookout for more information on the upcoming Book Fair that will take place the week of March 7th!

Today, we conducted an “Active Shooter” drill at Johnson School.  As to not heighten any concerns to students or staff, we referred to this an “Unwanted Visitor” drill.

Additionally, an unannounced fire alarm sounded at dismissal and it was treated as a real fire.  Students and staff were evacuated.  The Fire Department determined it was a faulty sensor and students and staff reentered the building, collected their belongings and dismissed as usual.

Please take a moment to view the newly revised 2021-2022 Calendar for the current school year.

This calendar was updated to reflect June 17 as the tentative last day of school, following the snow day we incurred.

Just a reminder, school is closed on Monday, January 31st, for students.
