Sight Words (also known as Trick Words) are very important in first grade! Many of these words cannot be sounded out because they break the spelling rules. We do a lot of work with these words, and the goal is to be able to read these words in a snap, as well as use them in context and spell them.  Below is a list of the 1st Grade word list.
