Hi there students and families! Yes, it is true! Mrs. Konopack is back to teaching Fifth Grade. I'm excited to see you all this year and to learn together in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies classes. 

You are going to need to bring your own supplies this year, which is pretty important. In addition to a backpack, you'll need several notebooks, folders, a pencil case with pencils, dry erase markers, an eraser, and lots of sticky notes. Here is a list that you can use.

And you can definitely expect that on the first day of school we will be talking about what you read this summer. As my fourth grade students in Media class, I had you keep a notebook full of titles and genres that you found interesting. Did you get to the library or bookstore to grab a copy and dig in? There is still time!

Finally, we are going to have a LOT of fun learning together this year. I guarantee it. I am THRILLED that each of you are in my class (seriously, we have a GREAT group). But please know that I'm going to ask a LOT of you. Fifth graders need to show perseverance, openness to learning new things, and an ability to make mistakes & learn from them. We will only tolerate respect for each other and I will work with you to cultivate responsibility. You will DEFINITELY be ready for Goetz after our year together, but will NEED to put in the work in order to make this happen.
