Summer work must be completed by the end of the first week of school for credit.
The French 3 Honors course is designed for the academically successful student, who has completed the French 1 and French 2 Honors programs. Conversational and listening skills continue to be developed and reinforced by student interaction with technology, cooperative learning, and cross-curricular activities. Reading and guided composition will remain as major focal points of the course. Multiculturalism will be promoted. Students continuing study in French III, encounter and learn the more complex speech patterns through drill and class conversations in the target language. Increased emphasis is placed on reading and writing and the class is conducted primarily in French to provide students with an immersive language experience. Cultural insights are gained through reading, audio and video recordings and class discussions. Students will be able to describe and discuss entertainment, extend and accept invitations, talk about daily activities and personal care, talk about where they live, shop for clothing and talk about the past in more detail. Please note the course prerequisites of French II or Honors French II are required.
