• Hi, Welcome to Mrs. Newman's (Formerly Martin) class page. 

    I started my teaching career by graduating from the University of Rhode Island, and taught at a small high school in CT. I started teaching at JMHS in January 2015. I am the Head Coach for Girl's Varsity Swimming, as well as the Assistant Coach for Girl's Varsity Spring Track. Besides teaching and coaching, I'm an avid runner and have completed over 6 marathons, with the goal to one day run Boston. I think a lot of the students know me as the crazy teacher who is always running, because I'll even be out in the rain and snow. It is my hope that I am setting a good example of what it means to be dedicated, and what it takes to work towards that goal. Hopefully one day, my commitment and determination might inspire and influence one of my student to work towards their "unicorns".

  • We will be using Google Classroom for all assignments.

     

    Our meeting spot is the Memorial Gymnasium (for PE) and Room 166 (for health). This is where we will meet each day, store our belongings, and take attendance before we begin that day's activity.
