Workplace Readiness is a full year course. The first semester involves developing life skills. Baking, apartment chores, responsibility, limited hygiene practice, and keyboarding skills will be our main focus areas. The class will shop at the local ShopRite for supplies needed for the class businesses or for personal items for their own home.
In the second semester of Workplace Readiness, the students will look toward the future. The class will start to discuss job interests, job skills required, and responsibilities of having a job. The students participate in a mock factory placement within our workshop. The students complete tasks and jobs utilizing a picture schedule.
