Period 2: The French 2 Honors course is designed for the academically successful student, who has completed the French 1 or French 1 Honors program. Conversational and listening skills continue to be developed and reinforced by student interaction with technology, cooperative learning, and cross-curricular activities. Reading and guided composition will remain as major focal points of the course. Multiculturalism will be promoted. Students continuing study in French II, encounter and learn the more complex speech patterns through drill and class conversations in the target language. Increased emphasis is placed on reading and writing and the class is conducted primarily in French to provide students with an immersive language experience. Cultural insights are gained through reading, audio and video recordings and class discussions. Students will be able to present themselves and others, talk about weekend plans, plan a meal, and talk about free time and entertainment.
