Our class is off to a wonderful start!! Please see below for important dates for the month of October. Homework will be sent home Monday, October 3 along with a reading log. Please return the homework packet on Friday, October 7. The reading log can be returned by Monday, October 31 (or sooner if completed). Information regarding a Halloween/Fall celebration will be forthcoming. As always, please reach out to me via email or Remind with any questions or concerns.
October School Closings
School is closed October 5 and October 10.
School Picture Day
School pictures are Friday, October 7. Flyers will be coming home on Monday, October 3. The make-up day for pictures is December 7.
Week of Respect, Safe Schools Week and Red Ribbon Week
The elementary school counselors planned school spirit days for the Week of Respect, Safe Schools Week and Red Ribbon Week for the month of October.
Week of Respect Activities - Monday October 3 - Friday, October 7
Monday, October 3-- Stomp Out Bullying created World Day of Bullying Prevention Blue Shirt Day. Do your part to stomp out bullying. Wear a BLUE shirt.
Tuesday, October 4-- Follow the Golden Rule- Be respectful! Wear GOLD or YELLOW.
Wednesday, October 5-- School Closed
Thursday, October 6-- Crazy for Kindness- We go crazy for kindness and respect! Crazy Hair Day.
Friday, October 7-- Kindness is Classy! Dress to Impress, it’s Picture Day!
Safe Schools Week Activities - Monday, October 17 - Friday, October 21
Monday, October 17 -- Help Everyone Respect Others – Dress like a Superhero Day - Wear a superhero shirt or dress like your favorite superhero.
Tuesday, October 18 -- Peace, Love, & Happiness - Spread good vibes and promote peace by wearing peace signs or tie dye to school.
Wednesday, October 19 -- Wear ORANGE for Unity Day - Show that we are united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Thursday, October 20 -- We Are Positive! - Positive Vibes =Kindness and Respect! Wear a positive vibes shirt!
Friday, October 21 -- United As One - Wear your school apparel or school colors (red, black and gray) to show that we are united to keep our school safe.
Red Ribbon Week Activities - Monday, October 24 - Friday, October 28
Monday, October 24 - Proud to Be Drug Free! - Wear RED to kick off Red Ribbon Week.
Tuesday, October 25 - Team Up Against Drugs! - Wear a team jersey or shirt.
Wednesday, October 26 - Put A Cap on Drugs! - Wear your favorite hat.
Thursday, October 27 - Lei Off Drugs! - Wear a Hawaiian shirt or lei!
Friday, October 28 - My Future is Bright. No Drugs in Sight! - Wear neon or bright colors.
Supplies
For School
- 1 backpack (large enough for chrome book and a folder)
- 1 lunchbox/bag labeled with your child's name.
- 1 pencil pouch with clear vinyl panel
- Extra set of clothing. Please place in a plastic bag with your child’s name.
- Headphones
- Daily leak-proof water bottle for breaks (can be a reusable bottle)
All other supplies for classroom use will be provided!
For At-Home Activities
- Crayons
