Course Description

  • Honors English 4 (0118) is a course designed to equip students with the skills necessary to think critically, read effectively, and express themselves clearly in writing and speaking as reflective, critical individuals. Interdisciplinary connections with twenty-first-century themes will be explored, as well as a comparative analysis of a Shakespearean drama. Guidance will be provided throughout an extended research analysis.  Students will study a wide variety of classic and contemporary literature, reading across genres and time periods. Students will practice critical thinking, reading, and writing skills through a variety of challenging activities. Students selecting this course should be prepared to engage in analytical and critical reading, discussion, and writing. Students in this college-bound class will be ready for the rigors of college English.
