Dear Parents,

Our class Holiday Party will take place on Wednesday, December 22nd.  We will be having a Holiday Pizza Celebration.  We will be collecting $2 per slice for each student. If your child would like more than one slice, please send in the proposed amount for each slice.

    • If your child orders a slice of pizza he/she may only want to bring in a snack to have for that day.
    •  If your child does not want to buy pizza they may bring a lunch or if they would like to buy a cafeteria lunch Daut/Williams will make sure they get it and bring it back to the classroom.

The collections for the pizza will begin on December 13th.

Please try to have your donations in by Monday, December 20th to ensure a proper count for the number of pizzas needed.

We will also need other donations to help make this party a success.

Please sign up for other snacks & supplies on Sign up Genius at:

    Holiday Party Signup

Please note this is a nut-free classroom. All donations will be greatly appreciated!

If you have any questions please let us know.

    Thank you,

    Mr. Daut & Ms. Williams

Here is the Back to School presentation and information for parents

    2021 Back to School Night

Welcome to Fourth Grade and to Room A111!

It is with excitement and anticipation that I make my introduction.  My name is Mr. Daut and I will be your teacher this school year. Although last year has brought us into uncharted territory, I will do my best to make sure this school year will be a pleasant, safe, and exciting one for us all. I am looking forward to getting to know each of my new students!  It has always been my goal to make learning as fun and interesting as I can.

It is important that you CHARGE your Chromebook and bring it to school with you on the first day of school and every day! Our Google Classroom will be an important hub for your learning and communication, and we will be setting it up on our very first day together. Also, you will need to bring a pair of headphones (if possible) in a labeled resealable bag to school. I look forward to seeing you at Crawford on Thursday, September 9th. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!

This year I have the honor of team teaching with Mrs. Williams. Mrs. Williams and I will be teaming up on all subjects taught as well as increasing the ability and opportunity within our classroom to teach in small groups and give one on one attention to some.   Mrs. Williams has a wonderful knowledge and understanding of the Math curriculum and her way of breaking down the sometimes difficult fourth-grade mathematics content and explaining it in a way that certainly helps students achieve success.

    Dear parents,

We feel that it is very important for teachers, students, and parents to work together in this interesting and new educational process. As we embark on this adventure, remember we are all in this together.  I’m looking forward to meeting or hearing from you at some point this year. If you have any questions or if you would like to simply introduce yourself to me, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at jgdaut@jacksonsd.org

Together we can make this a rewarding year.

    Mr. J. Daut

An important note about school supplies:

Since our desk storage space is limited, I ask that students refrain from bringing in large binders or multiple notebooks unless asked.   There will be NO SHARING of any writing utensils, so one small pencil case or box will be very helpful to store your writing supplies. I really don't ask for much in the way of supplies.   I will provide pencils, crayons, block erasers, glue sticks, scissors, rulers, and marble notebooks for students.

If you prefer to buy your own marble composition notebooks, you will need three.

I am asking students to bring in three folders and two one-subject spiral notebooks for social studies/science and math.  If your child prefers colored pencils they may use them instead.  A few different colored pens would be helpful as well as a box of tissues.

Personal hand sanitizer is always welcome.

  • Dear Parents/Guardians

There are students attending your child's class who suffers from a possible life-threatening allergy to peanut/tree nut products i.e. peanut butter, peanut oil, etc.

Students who have severe allergies to such food substances are exposed to a health risk when peanut products are consumed in their environment or shared with them. Please speak with your child about not sharing their food with other children.

If your child has health problems of any kind, please inform me immediately so that the necessary health protection steps may be taken.

Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated so that we might provide for the health needs of students at risk of health trauma.

Attached are two large but incomplete lists of peanut/Treenut-free snacks.  It is also important to read ingredient labels for production methods.

    Yours truly,

    Mr. Daut
