Welcome to Fourth Grade and Room A111!
It is with excitement and anticipation that I make my introduction. My name is Mr. Daut and I will be your teacher this school year. I am looking forward to getting to know each of my new students! My goal has always been to make learning as fun and interesting as possible.I will do my best to ensure this school year will be a pleasant, safe, and exciting one for us all.
It is important that you CHARGE your Chromebook and bring it to school with you on the first day of school and every day! Our Google Classroom will be an important hub for your learning and communication, and we will be setting it up on our very first day together. Also, you will need to bring a pair of headphones (if possible) in a labeled resealable bag to school. I look forward to seeing you at Crawford on Wednesday, September 6th. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!
For several years, I have had the honor of team teaching with Mrs. Williams. Mrs. Williams and I will be teaming up on all subjects taught as well as increasing the ability and opportunity within our classroom to teach in small groups and give one-on-one attention to some. Mrs. Williams has wonderful knowledge and understanding of the Math curriculum. Her way of breaking down the sometimes difficult fourth-grade mathematics content and explaining it in a way that certainly helps students achieve success.

Class Webpage: This page will give you general information about the subjects and topics we are learning, and provide links to other resources as well as other notices and information. I will update this class page frequently with any new information I need to share.
Email: This can also be used for communication throughout the day when both parents and students need it.
Google Classroom: IMPORTANT: Our Google Classroom is where SOME assignments and lessons will be posted throughout the year and where students will sometimes submit assignments as well.
Your child will be invited to our Whole Class Google Classroom.
The Invite to our Google Classroom will be sent to your child's school email account.
Be on the lookout for your child's email invitation to our Google Classroom by Monday, September 2nd.

An important note about school supplies:
Since our desk storage space is limited, I ask that students refrain from bringing in large binders or multiple notebooks unless asked. One small pencil case or box will be very helpful to store your school supplies.
I will provide students with pencils, crayons, block erasers, glue sticks, scissors, and rulers.
I am asking students to bring in three folders, two marble composition books for reading/writing and two one-subject spiral notebooks for social studies/science and math. If your child prefers colored pencils, they may use them instead. A few different colored pens would be helpful.
A box of tissues for the class and a personal hand sanitizer is always welcome.

Back to School Night will be in person on the following evenings.
Preschool: Wednesday, September 25 @ 5:30 pm
Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2: Wednesday, September 25 @ 7:00 pm
Grades 3, 4, and 5: Tuesday, September 24 @ 7:00 pm
Lunch is from 12:35-1:05.
