Course Description
This course is designed for students who have an interest in technology and construction. The course will include an in-depth study of planning and problem solving through the engagement of both hands-on and digital design and construction activities. By utilizing various computer programs, hand tools, power machines, and finishing techniques, students will skillfully create unique project work. Throughout the course, students will develop skills such as product design, materials selection, materials processing, and general safety. These skills will prepare students to pursue career interests in construction, architecture, engineering, and design. This course is a must for students who have a love for woodworking, design, and an eye for detail.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand and demonstrate proficient skill with measuring, calculating dimensions, and using units
- Plan and design detailed projects on paper along with using digital design tools
- Understand and apply knowledge of tools, machinery, and cutting procedures to the design and creation of physical projects
