• GUIDE FOR STUDENT GRADING AND GRADE DETERMINATION

    RECORDS AND DETERMINATION

One of the most important aspects of education is that of assessing student performance. The Jackson School District firmly believes that each student must be evaluated based on his/her individual progress and the manner in which all of the various course requirements are met.

Grading on the Portal – The Student Portal is a link the parents may access to view their sons’ or daughter’s current progress in each class. It is expected that a sufficient number of graded activities including tests, quizzes, papers, notebooks, or other such criteria will be provided each marking period to justify a student’s grade. When establishing grading criteria for the portal system, all teachers are required to follow their department’s grading percentages. Teachers are to record student grades on the portal in a timely manner.
