Welcome to the Jackson Liberty Boys Winter Track & Field team page. Boys interested in participating in track and field at JLHS can contact Coach Lavezzo at dmlavezzo@jacksonsd.org, we are always looking for guys for our team. Our team makes no cuts and boys of any ability are welcome. See our question/answer section below for more information.
The schedule is posted on the links below, just import it into your phone or computer!! If you are interested in participating in winter track for the 2023-2024 season, see Mr. Engle (JLHS Spring Track Coach) in D103 for more information. No experience needed, we teach all events with proper technique and conditioning to develop speed, endurance and flexibility. The schedule for this season is being developed on the fly as new meets are being added each day. We will likely be outside most/all of the time for practice. Winter Track and Field Event List
Sprints- 55m, 200m, 400m
Distances- 800m, 1600m, 3200m
Hurdles- 55HH
Throws- Shot Put
Jumps- Long Jump (some meets), High Jump, Pole Vault
Relays- 4x100m, 4x400m, 4x200m, 4x800m, 4x1600m, Distance Medley, Sprint Medley, Shuttle HurdlesVarsity Letter Standards are located here.
As you can see there is something for everyone. Multi-sport athletes are recruited by more top college programs in ALL sports around the country. Successful athletes also compete, not just train.
