    VOLUNTEER SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:

The Ocean County Library is excited for the return of our summer volunteer program, Service and Achievement In the Library (S.A.I.L.).  S.A.I.L. is returning solely in-person this year at all branches, and only virtually at the Beachwood branch. The volunteer program is offered to teens who have completed at least 7th grade and are entering grades 8th - 12th in the fall. Teen volunteers accepted into the program are able to gain work-life experience by assisting the library with programs, displays, and other library-related activities. This is an opportunity to learn about the library, engage with peers, and earn community service hours over the summer.

To apply for the S.A.I.L. program, teens need to fill out the application here: https://theoceancountylibrary.org/teens/SAIL. Teens should click on the drop-down menu, select their branch, and review the application carefully. Some branches have specific deadlines and dates for certain events.

There are limits to the number of volunteers who can participate in-person, so positions will fill on a first come first serve basis.

In addition, this year, S.A.I.L. volunteers at various locations will participate in a new version of Reading Buddies. Jackson is one of the branches participating. To find out more about Reading Buddies, please view the details here.

Please find a virtual flyer for S.A.I.L. attached.

P.S. Please note that Jackson Branch's Teen Advisory Board and Teen Volunteer hour will pause during S.A.I.L. Students who are not participating in S.A.I.L., but who need volunteer hours during the summer, will be able to submit Teen Book Reviews.
