• Dear Parents & Students,

For freshmen, welcome to Liberty and all it has to offer!

For juniors, welcome back!  I hope you are planning to jump right in & be an example to our new freshman population.  I look forward to, hopefully, having the opportunity to teach some of you again!

This course, Health & Physical Education, will help provide students with the necessary information to enable them to self-manage their lives, promote a healthy lifestyle which will ultimately improve the quality of life in all areas. My goal.... is to equip students with the necessary tools/life skills in order to thrive.

Class assignments will be posted & turned in through Google Classroom, which will be our "hub" for information. Before school officially starts on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, you will receive an email (after 4pm Friday, 9/2/2022) with a link to join our Google classroom.  Please be sure to join (using your school email) before the first day of school.

Parents, if you would like to be connected to our Google classroom page, please let me know via email & I will sign you up. (please note I can only use the email that you have listed in the portal.) My email is magonzales@jacksonsd.org

    What is new this year....?

This year is going to look very different from the past with our new common lunch. The common lunch is one hour in the middle of the day and it gives students the opportunity to eat lunch with their friends, as well as; get extra help, meet with teachers/coaches/counselors, have a study/work time, participate in a club, make up classwork/do Physical Education make-ups, deal with discipline issues or just chill.

Something new in Physical Education is...

The Physical Education Department will be piloting a new program that will provide an opportunity for students to be able to choose some of their activities within the curriculum.  Which means some of you juniors might get to dance again.

Please know that with any changes there will, of course, be wrinkles that will need to be worked out, so we will all need to give each other some grace, kindness and patience. If we can do that, I think we will all experience an exciting and fulfilling year!

    with peace

    Ms. Gonzales
